Guest blog: Kim Thittichai

This month, I’d like to introduce you to Kim’s blog. I have known Kim for a number of years, having been a student on a year-long course that she taught in 2014. We have remained good friends ever since and I have visited her home on the west coast of Ireland a couple of times. Kim is well-known for her practice and techniques with heat and fusible materials and has written several books.

More recently, she has been leading trips abroad to take in textiles, culture and architecture of different countries and you can read about the trip last month to Uzbekistan on her blog. Visiting other countries is a great way to find new inspiration.

Kim has an on-line library of courses which will close very soon as she is finishing teaching, so do take a look before it disappears. She is a great teacher.

I have been busy with a few things for a gallery which I’m loooking forward to sharing with you next month, as well as slowly making another yarn nest. House decorating, gardening, family commitments and a wonderful creative retreat with Littleheath Barn have made for a busy but happy May. The weather has been unusually sunny for weeks (driest Spring since records started) but we are now in much need of a good rain!

See you soon…
