This is a very short post to share with you an up-coming exhibition.
Maker Project 2019 was a wonderful opportunity to be involved with a PHD research project by Tom Sutton looking at the process of making and the arena of craft skillls education.

‘UK based makers selected for their specialist knowledge and artisan skills took on the role of researcher by rising to the challenge of recording their creative practice and the thought process that informs it. Selected from a range of disciplines, each employed their knowledge and skills towards reinterpreting the iconic C20th tubular bandstand chair. Each final piece celebrating the importance of making through creative practice and cognitive thinking.’
You can find out about the project, information on all the artists and interviews with each one, discussing in more depth the topics above. The website is here.

The research has now been completed and the findings along with the chairs and artist journals are being shown over January and February in the centre of Bolton, England. The exhibition will also show additional work from the artists made around the time of the project and more recently. It will be a fascinating mix if you are able to visit.
