Day 1
Had a lovely day at Keithley Artist Studios on the first day, learning about the differences between using tea, vinegar, and other acidic liquids to make rust prints.
We used wire wool which rusts very quickly and made other test pieces before wrapping objects in various fabrics and tying into bundles. These were soaked overnight.
We used small pieces of silk which Alice had prepared to study rust marks and applied stitch to emphasise line or areas of interest. The samples were backed on felt.
These are fab, Rachael; I love the marks made by rust. Beautiful colours.
